Young voices resonated throughout Norwalk Concert Hall over the weekend for theFairfield County Children's Choir's 18th Seasonal Concert, "Sit Down, You're Rockin' the Boat."

Nearly 300 children from grades 4 through 12 filled the stage to sing medleys from 4 different Broadway Shows. Jon Noyes says he founded the choir 18 years ago in order to share the joy of music with young people.

"Music is one of the great things that exists in the world that people participate in so those of us, like our musical staff who have experienced music in our lives, we wan't to share it with the kids."

The choir rehearses throughout the week and many performed their first solos.

"This is definitely my favorite concert we do all year. I have a few solos, so that's going to be fun, but I just love all the music that we do."

"Being part of this choir has really opened me up to all of these things and I have to say that I love broadway so much."

The concert also included an auction to benefit the school's rising tuition costs and a Newtown commemoration. A Rabbi from Newtown honored the victims and bracelets were sold to benefit the town.

The choir also participated in a Flash Mob commercial aired during the Super Bowl to benefit the Smilow Cancer Hospital of Yale-New Haven, which can be viewed on closertofree.com. The choir's next concert of the season will be on Saturday May 11 at Fairfield University.

"We don't do a whole lot of advertising for auditions. People just find us and word of mouth and it's been going very successfully for these 18 years."

Noyes says he will hold auditions this May and June for next year's choir.
