A man escapes from jail and goes to a bar for a beer.
Most jail escapees would try to get as far away and as quickly as possible. Well that wasn’t the case for inmate Timothy Bonner.
He landed in a holding cell in the Smith Township police station in Pennsylvania following an assault charge. His handcuffs had been removed, so it allowed him to break the jail door right off the hinges. He was able to escape from the building.
After gaining freedom, Bonner ventured to a nearby home where he asked to borrow shoes. He then went to a local bar for a beer, but officers soon caught up with him.. A fellow patron states “He asked me to buy him a beer, so I bought him a beer. He didn't even get to take a drink of it before they slammed him on the bar."
Bonner is now facing additional charges.
Last year, two Iowa thieves were rearrested just minutes after their release from jail. The two men were freed on July 9th at 9:15 in the morning for previous charges of theft and burglary .
20 minutes later and five blocks away from the jail, the men were seen on surveillance, snatching two bicycles and riding off, wearing the same clothes from their release.
