Famed tightrope walker Nik Wallenda wowed onlookers Tuesday (January 29) morning with a high-wire walk over a Florida highway without a safety harness.
The circus performer and six-time
Guinness world record holder climbed 200 feet (61 meters) into the air for his daredevil walk over busy highway route U-S 41 in his hometown of Sarasota, Florida.
Battling a steady wind, it took Wallenda about 15 minutes to make the breathtaking trek from Bayfront Park to the Marina Tower condominium. Unlike last summer's high wire act over Niagara Falls, the 34 year-old did not wear a safety harness for today's stunt.
