The cub scouts of Pack 48 stepped up to bat for charity at Bobby Valentine's Sports Academy Sunday night. This is the 6th year the scouts held their annual Hit-A-Thon event to raise money for a good cause. This year, Pack 48 hit baseballs for the New Covenant House of Hospitality. Pack 48 set a $4,000 fundraising goal this year. Each cub scout collected pledges and took 25 swings for the cause. The public was invited to join in on the action with an open swing session available for extra donations. Although Hit-A-Thon is over, Pack 48 is still accepting donations for the New Covenant House.
