Hello it's Brian Dawson hear from Customer FinderĀ® Marketing. This is the first marketing tip in this series of marketing tips for business owners. And the reason why I chose Google places web page as the first marketing tip is because this is one of the most important things you can do as a business owner to promote your website.
It's actually a gift from Google and all gifts from Google should be taken advantage of.
In this video I'm going to show you how to do this. So you should make a Google places page made for yourself or have one made for you -- either in your marketing department or have a professional do it for you.
Now search for Google places. And you'll find Google places to come up here. Click on that.
You'll be taken to this page. Then you click get started now. And you'll be taken to this page with your e-mail account that you just created and your password. And you click sign in.
Now you're in Google places. And if you want to find out if you have a Google places page that Google has made for you, you can put your phone number in put here and then click find business information.
And you see in this example that this phone number is related to this Google places account. And you should only see one account here. If you see more than one account, then that is a problem because Google actually only wants you to have typically one account for your business to show up here.
This is the page that you complete for your Google places page. So just make sure you put everything in here as Google wants it. And when you get finished, you can click submit at the bottom.
After this Google will verify what you put in by either sending a postcard in a week or two or you can verify it with answering a phone call from Google.
Finally when this is all done correctly, after a certain length of time, Google will hopefully show your listing of your business in these top findings for your occupation in your neighborhood.
