Christian Community Action in Norwalk is looking for volunteers. The non-profit provides food, financial aid and furniture to families in the greater Norwalk area, and is looking for help up front.
"We need many more receptionists who can help answer busy phone lines, greet donors, make appointments," says CCA Volunteer Coordinator Laura Kuehn.
She says CCA'S service has grown since partnering with nonprofit Person-to-Person in fall 2012, and that's why they need help.
"They need to have a passion for helping people, and be able to work with people of different cultures," she says.
"If someone is able to be a receptionist here, the pantry will run a lot more smoothly."
Volunteers must be able to use a computer and answer phones. Kuehn says volunteers typically work one day a week for three to four hours. She is hoping to get roughly 10 more volunteers. Anyone interested should directly contact Kuehn at (203) 939-1651.
