Colombian civilians brace for end of ceasefire

A two month unilateral ceasefire declared by armed groups in Colombia has ended.

The truce had been offered asa gesture of good will during a on-going peace talks in Cuba.

The government of Juan Manuel Santos, however, refuses to accept any bilateral ceasefire, saying the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, FARC, have used such instances to recruit and strengthen.

Sunday's deadline has civilians bracing themselves for an upsurge on violence.
