Afghanistan's President Hamid Karzai met with members of the U.S. Senate on Wednesday (January 9) and discussed "mutual goals" for the two countries.
Karzai met with McConnell and a few other Senators in the Foreign Relations and Armed Services panels.
One reporter asked Karzai about the number of U.S. troops he would like to see in Afghanistan.
Karzai replied that he was told to avoid answering questions of that nature, which drew laughter from the press corps.
