Mahendra Singh Dhoni was trying to rally the team as India crashed to another defeat in the hands of Pakistan in the second ODI on Thursday (January 3) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. While the captain and the players showed remorse on the field, the story in the dressing room was completely different. According to sources, TIMES NOW came to know that there was no dressing down or even pep talk given to the players after the loss. It is definitely a divided team, but there was no effort from the management or the BCCI to keep them together. The players do not communicate with coach Duncan Fletcher and the chemistry between them is evidently lacking. As India take on Pakistan in the final day of the ODI-series in Delhi, Virendra Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir who have failed miserably in the last couple of games, still managed to secure a place in the team. Ajinkya Rahane, who is a promising star in the team have been reduced to the role of a bench boy for the on-going series. It is now time for the team to shake up and come back to reality and the BCCI should reconsider its decision on playing non-performing players in the team.
In a debate moderated by TIMES NOW's Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami, panelists -- Bishen Singh Bedi, Former Indian Captain; Atul Wasan, Former Indian Cricketer; Suhel Seth, Managing Partner, Counselage; Shailendra Singh, MD, Percept; Kishore Bhimani, Senior Sports Journalist -- discuss whether it is time that in the interest of the nation, the dismal depths to which the Indian team has fallen, be revealed.
