A seal is discovered in flooded waters 50 miles away from the ocean.

Animals continue to amaze us with their abilities.

One seal ended up making a recent appearance at Drayton Lakes Reserve in Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom, which is roughly 50 miles away from the sea.

A 29-year-old visitor in the area captured the seal on video and published it to YouTube. The clip shows the seal crossing a barrier, climbing a bank and hopping into flood waters.

Although seals occasionally venture away from the ocean, a nature reserve official stated “The surprising thing was to see it leaving the river and hopping over the bank, entering the gravel pits area.”

Officials speculate that the seal was just exploring the area and checking out the views. The creature hasn’t been spotted since it was filmed, but it has been said that there is enough fish to feed off of if it decides to stay longer.

In 2010, another sea mammal went on an extreme exploration. A female humpback whale broke world records when it swam an astounding 6,200 miles, venturing from Brazil to Madagascar.

A dolphin expert stated “This is about 2,500 miles longer than any previously reported movement between breeding grounds.”
