Finally, here we are embarking on a journey that had long been awaited. To mark the beginnings Darker Sounds presents a five piece EP comprised of eerie and twisted numbers that represent everything that this new label is about.

The opening trip is a desperate confession of an addict. Crack Is Whack is a strenuous journey abundant with HEFTYesque rounded atmospherics that plunge the listener into the depth of nightmares that spawn from this illusive chemical. The intimate groove and the solid beat are the only way out as one follows the recollections of the unknown user. Be ready to explore the yet unvisited places of your psyche as HEFTY guides you through a forest of sounds that make-up the trembling experience of crack.

The nightmare does not end there, but continuous in a much subtler yet pushy nature with Jan Underwood's The Butcher, where the pulse of the bass dominates the ears and the creeping percussions chop away and through the soundscapes creating an irresistible neck-cracking groove.

The voices return with Cern's Positionen as the looping siren tries to churn its way out of the crippling beat. This is indeed where dangers surface and one becomes subject to possession.

Things become much more sinister in the Admission To The Operating Room of Bruno Ledesma & Lucas Ezequiel. The stretching reverberated echoes submit the listener to hypnoses and paint a picture of the Frankenstein's lab cluttered with dissected limbs and collections of organs... and the rest is best left for the imagination.

The EP closes with another savage number by HEFTY, Assisted Suicide. This time a lot more techy and with a sense of urgency constructed with arpeggiated synths and alarming blips. This track assists one to the end of the threshold, and not where your nightmare ends, but where other ones begin.
