A newly released recording of an interview with Yoko Ono shed a little more light on why the Beatles called it quits.

In an interview recorded in 1987 with music executive Joe Smith, released by the Library of Congress, John Lennon's widow Yoko Ono talks about, what she described as, the Beatles "divorce."

Ono says that Lennon was "feeling very good about" the breakup and that drummer Ringo Star and guitarist George Harrison had also brought up the idea of splitting up.

The conversation is in synch with recent comments made my Paul McCartney. In October, McCartney told British journalist David Frost that Ono "did not break the group up" because it was "already breaking up."
