The new Ford Escape redesign included environmentally friendly manufacturing and materials. Inside the cabin almost all of the materials are recycled from a variety of sources or made from natural products. The foam in the seats is made from soybean oil rather than petroleum, and the sound-absorbing insulation is made from scrap cotton. The carpet is also made from recycled polyester fibers derived from recycled plastic bottles.
