Rebels target a school occupied by forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Idlib province.
In a conflict that has already cost the lives of some 44,000 people they are learning how to fend for themselves one weapon at a time.
(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) UNNAMED SYRIAN REBEL, SAYING:
"There is a school that has been taken over by the Assad thugs. We are now targeting the school with handmade missiles."
Rebels have scored advances across the country closing in on the Capitol Damascus.
Syria's military police chief has now defected.
As rebels gain ground Western powers fear the response from a weakened government could become even more dangerous.
