National Chambal Sanctuary was founded in 1979. It is a wildlife sanctuary near Etawah in Uttar Pradesh, India. Chambal Sanctuary is famous for crocodile , gharial , birds and six species of Turtles. More than 250 species of birds may be seen in the sanctuary. The sanctuary is protected under India's Wildlife Protection Act 1972.
