"The Dal, Nagin, Wular and other lakes of Kashmir state lie in Srinagar, the capital of India's northern-most state. Despite their beauty, their size is rapidly getting reduced due to usage of the water resources, depletion of the streams and recharge channels that filled them up, and the dumping of waste building material and sewage into the lakes.
