The 5-18 New Orleans Hornets will hit the highway to face the 18-6 LA Clippers in an NBA pro basketball game on Wednesday night. Tip time from the Staples Center in LA is scheduled for 10:30PM Eastern Time with national television coverage provided by the NBA League Pass Channel.

The point spread from this NBA game opened with the home team LA Clippers favored by -13 ½ points with an over under line of 191 points. There has been no movement in the betting line or total since the odds came out a few hours ago.

The teams met back on November 26th and it was the Hornets posting the 105-98 road win at the Clippers as a +13 point underdog. The game landed over 189 points. Yes it did happen and it came in a time where the Clippers did not commit themselves fully on the defensive end of the court. Trend: LA Clippers are 6-1 ATS in their past seven games.

The Hornets are 2-8 on the road this season. They will be on a back to back tonight after a 103-96 road defeat to the Golden St Warriors last night as a +7 ½ point underdog. The Hornets have now lost eight straight games and ten of their past eleven contests. The team simply struggles for scoring. That is a bad profile for being in the Western conference. They rank 28th in the NBA in scoring offense by averaging 92 points a game. Rookie Anthony Davis is second on the team in scoring at 14 points a game and 8 boards. Austin Rivers has been a major disappointment with a 36% shooting percentage and 8 points a game in 28 minutes of play.

The Clippers are a hot team winners of ten straight. Ironically the win streak started after that bad home defeat to New Orleans. They come off a 4-0 east coast road trip. They closed it out with a huge fourth quarter in a 88-76 road win at Detroit as a -6 ½ points favorite. LA brings a much more professional attitude to the court against lesser teams. That was the Achilles heal early in the year as they simply dropped games they had no business losing. The corrected their attitude on defense as the club has allowed 99 or less points in nine of their past ten games. On the just concluded four game road trip the Clips gave up an average of 86 points to their opponents.
