"Indian Lotus, Sacred Lotus, Bean of India, or simply Lotus, is a plant in the Nelumbonaceae family called as Nelumbo nucifera. This plant is an aquatic perennial. The leaves may be as large as 60 cm in diameter, while the showy flowers can be up to 20 cm in diameter.

This video shows water droplets falling on Lotus leaves, during the Indian monsoon. The lotus has a strange surface tension oil that completely drains off water, without wetting the surface! This is now being adapted into a new nanotechnology based technology to make wet suits that will not wet the wearer!
