A new Lay's potato chip has premiered in China flavored with Pepsi and chicken.

Soda, chicken and potato chips - are popular around the world.

In China, PepsiCo has decided to combine them into one.

The new product is called ‘Pepsi-Cola chicken-flavor Lay's potato chips’. Chicken mixed with cola is apparently a well known recipe in China, where chicken wings are mixed with a sweet wok and later caramelized in soy sauce.

When that popular recipe is created into a potato chip form, the taste is said to slightly mimic a barbecue flavored chip, but with an extra sugary kick. Apparently, Lay’s introduces a different flavor each year.

A marketing spokesperson for the company says “We thought it would be really cool to have a cola combined with chicken. Also it would be very cool to involve one of our most-iconic soft drinks.”

Several companies have been known to create seemingly bizarre food concoctions in China. Reportedly, there is a Kraft Foods 'biscuit research lab' in China. One of their projects was a rectangular Oreo filled with gum instead of cream. A researcher stated that the cookie "tasted OK but was difficult to swallow."Another cookie experiment was the 'red-bean-paste Oreos'.
