The San Diego Chargers will travel out east to face the Pittsburgh Steelers in an NFL pro football game on Sunday afternoon. Kick off time from Pittsburgh is scheduled for 1PM Eastern Time with national television coverage provided by CBS.

The point spread opened up in this NFL game with the home team Pittsburgh Steelers favored by -7 points with an over under line of 43 points. Early money from the betting public has not moved this betting line as Pittsburgh remains favored by -7 points and the total is still hung at 43 points.

The teams meet on Sunday for the first time since the 2009 season where the Steelers posted the 38-28 home win as a -5 ½ point betting favorite. The total went over 43 points. NFL Trend: San Diego Chargers are 2-6 ATS in their past eight games.

San Diego has lost four straight and seven of their past eight games to sit at 4-8 on the year. They come off the 20-13 home defeat last week to the Cincinnati Bengals as a +1 point underdog. The total landed under 46 points. The Chargers were held scoreless in the second half in defeat. San Diego posted 297 offensive yards with 46 rushing on eleven carries. They go 0 of 3 inside the red zone but won the turnover battle by the +1 margin. Phillip Rivers hit on 26 of 48 passes for 280 yards with an interception. Rivers has 18 touchdowns and 15 interceptions on the season. San Diego allowed Cincinnati 339 yards of offense with 128 running the ball on 32 rushes. The Chargers are no longer a top flight offense in the NFL. They put up just 322 yards a game ranking 26th in the NFL. It is too bad because the defense has been much improved this season. They have scored 13 point in each of their past two games all resulting in losses. Reports are head coach Norv Turner and general manager A.J. Smith will not return next season. San Diego is 3 games behind both Pittsburgh and Cincinnati for the sixth and final seed in the AFC playoff race. A loss eliminates San Diego from the playoff chase.

The Steelers break a two game losing streak last week in a 23-20 road win at the Baltimore Ravens as a +8 point underdog to improve to 7-5 on the season. The game went over 36 ½ points. Pittsburgh overcomes as 20-13 deficit after three quarters by outscoring Baltimore 10-0 in the final period. Their offense posted 366 yards with 96 coming from their ground attack on 26 tries. They had three turnovers and took two from Baltimore.
