Male artists dominate Grammy nominations; pregnant Kate leaves hospital

Male artists led the nominations for the 2013 Grammys. The Black Keys took the lead in categories such as album of the year and Record of the Year. Fun. earned nods in both categories as well as with their album "Some Nights" and song, "We Are Young." Frank Ocean also followed suit, getting a best album nod for "Channel Orange" and best record for song, "Thinkin Bout You." The winners will be announced on music's biggest night, February 10, 2013.

Prince William's pregnant wife Kate left the hospital in central London on December 6 where she had spent four days being treated for acute morning sickness. Kate appeared with her husband at the steps of the hospital smiling and holding a bouquet of yellow flowers. No word on when the baby is due, although the prince's spokesman has said Kate is less than 12 weeks pregnant.

"Zero Dark Thirty" wins a second major award in one week. Director Kathryn Bigelow's action thriller about the decade-long hunt for Osama bin Laden was named best film of 2012 by the National Board of Review. The film also took the top award from the New York Film Critics Circle and boosts movie's Oscar prospects in February.

The A-list cast of the new film "Les Miserables" hit the red carpet in London for its World Premiere. Based on the Victor Hugo novel and the subsequent stage musical, the film's stars include Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe and Helena Bonham Carter. "Les Miserables" is due to open in the US on Christmas Day and in the UK early next year.
