The former head of the International Monetary Fund Dominique Strauss-Kahn is said to have reached a settlement with the hotel maid who accused him of trying to rape her.

The New York Times says a quiet deal has been agreed, with no mention of compensation.

The 63-year-old was arrested in May last year after the alleged incident at New York hotel.
