Rebel Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa formally resigns from the party. BSY has sent his resignation top BJP President Nitin Gadkari. Although the BJP insists that BSYs resignation will have no impact, the possibility of a major crisis in the BJP's Southern bastion cannot be ruled out.
