His steel plant in France employs 20,000 people but now steel baron LN Mittal's decision to shut down two unprofitable steel furnaces has lead French Government to threaten him with nationalisation of the entire site. Edouard Martin, Union of Steelworkers at Arcelor Mittal steel plant in Florange, said, "With Mittal there is no other solution (than nationalisation) because he won't give anything, and the state is the only one which can take the tool from his hands."
