Over 450 (588) rhino have been slaughtered for their horns so far this year. So South Africans collectively breathed a sigh of relief when Thai national Chumlong Lemtongthai pleaded guilty this week to trading in rhino horn. But their relief was short-lived. In a move that has outraged animal activists, the prosecution dropped charges against Chumlong's co-accused, allowing them to walk free. It was claimed the men knew nothing about any illegal activities, but the video footage tells a very different story.
