A new scandal is putting a dark mark the BBC's powerful reputation while the large company is till in the middle of the Jimmy Savile fiasco.
On November 2, BBC2's Newsnight broadcasted a report reopening an child abuse case of a man who was sexually abused when living in a children's home in north Wales over 20 years ago. Although they did not name the alleged abuser, the had enough clues for the smart people of the internet to figure out who they were talking about. Only problem? They had the wrong man.
The BBC is now reeling from this case of mistaken identity. Not only is Lord McAlpine, the wrongfully accused man, going to sue, but the BBC's already frail reputation is even weaker now.
To make matters worse, only 54 days after he moved into the director general position, George Entwistle left the position. Chairman of the BBC Trust, felt it would be appropriate to award George a year's pay for all his "hard work". Jeeze BBC, you can't even get your punishments straight!
C'mon BBC, you're the largest broadcaster in the world, you should be able to get your pedophiles straight. We have two animated characters doing all the work here, and we're still doing a better job than you!
