Another of me playing the Compton electrone organ model 363 at St Cyprian's Church in Hay Mills just outside Birmingham city centre.

Im playing the hymn 'Will you come and follow me' which is the tune 'The Summons'. In this video I have switched the rotofon speaker off which is to say it is not rotating. Compare this with the other video I have here and the difference will be noticeable.

These organs are fast becoming extinct with many churches replacing them with digital instruments etc. Modern technology is indeed appealing with its realistic sampled sounds but history is being lost as a result. Opportunities should be taken to see that these unique instruments are preserved for future generations to experience how technology worked in the pre digital era.
