A striking new architectural concept pushes the limits of what's considered a home.

Dubbed’ The Transformation House’ by Michael Jantzen, it is described as a “design study for an interactive, responsive, self-contained structure that can change its shape to accommodate different functions.” Divided into five rotating sections, they can be turned automatically or manually.

The shifting movements allow for more sunlight to warm the house, wind to cool the structure or to collect rainwater. The sections can also be rotated to simply change views and all of the furniture would be stored in cabinets which can be turned out of the glass floor and folded open.

The house would be constructed of light weight steel and it would utilize photovoltaic cells to get electricity from the sun. Jantzen is responsible for several unique housing experiments.

He boasts another idea called the ‘Hideaway House’. The fire-resistant, durable material could be folded up or down, serving as a high-tech, upscale tent.
