Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne review. Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of May Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne for Playstation 2. May Payne returns and still can't catch a break. Taking place a few years after the original, Max is investigating a string of murders that are all connected to a larger conspiracy. The story is told through Max's internal dialogue and comic book panels. The story is incredible and goes right in line with the gameplay. This is a gritty game with dark tones and even darker themes. The combat is great, tight, and responsive. Everything builds to force you into the world of Max Payne, which is not a bad thing.
