A 90-year-old victim gets sued by his alleged burglar following a gun confrontation.
Sure, we have heard of victims suing criminals but how about the other way around?
A California man named Jay Leone is being sued after shooting an alleged burglar who broke into his home.
The confrontation occurred earlier this year in January. A 31-year-year old man reportedly entered Leone’s home and tied the elderly man up.
He was able to loosen the restraints and asked to use the bathroom but he grabbed a handgun instead. A gun fight ensued and Leone was shot in the face so he fired a return shot at the burglar.
After spending some time in the hospital, the alleged burglar is suing for “great bodily injury, and other financial damage, including loss of the home, and also the dissolution of his marriage”, claiming that the elderly man shot him negligently.
Leone claimed that he was unaware of the upcoming lawsuit but says “He's the one who busted my door in. I'll just countersue him then. That's what I'll need to do.”
What do you think about the burglar's lawsuit in this case?
