An official of North Korea is executed by a mortar shell following a disrespectful incident.

Many North Korean government and military officials have been disappearing since Kim Jong-un became the leader of the country after the death of his father, Kim Jong-il.

One of the men was reportedly executed by being shot directly with a mortar round.

The reason for the execution of Kim Chol, who was the vice minister of the North Korean Army, is that he misbehaved following the death of the Kim Jong-il, during the country’s official mourning period.

Kim Jong-un is reportedly trying to protect his role and his family’s regime by taking out high ranking officials who may pose a threat to his leadership.

According to the Telegraph, 14 other North Korean senior officials have been purged by the young leader who is estimated to be only 28 or 29 years old.

Kim Jong-un has not complied with China’s orders to stop missile testing, but he has introduced some badly-needed agricultural reforms to North Korean society.

According to the United Nations World Food Programme, one third of North Korea’s children are chronically malnourished.
