An Italian woman will leave her $2.5 million property inheritance to her dog.

An elderly woman in the Town of Caserta, Italy has made a lucky mongrel one of the wealthiest animals in the world.

According to the woman’s attorney, soon after her husband passed away, she had the will drawn up to leave two apartments, several properties and a few bank accounts to her dearly loved dog, Kikko.

The assets, estimated to be around 2.5 million dollars, will be managed by an executor who “will be obliged to ensure a worthy life-long existence of a domestic animal after receiving the right of access to all bequeathed valuables.”

Leaving millions of dollars to a family pet in one’s last will and testament is not new. After Drew Barrymore’s yellow lab saved her and then partner, Tom Greene from a devastating house fire, it is claimed, she has bequeathed her 3 million dollar home in Beverly Hills to Flossie.

Kikko and Flossie have it pretty good, but a German Shepherd has the biggest furry fortune. The Countess Karlotta Libenstein of Germany willed 106 million dollars to Gunther’s father, Gunther the third.

Trustees invested the money and by his birth, Gunther the fourth had an estimated 372 million dollar fortune.

Does this seem outrageous or would you leave millions to your favorite pet, too?
