Coming up today on Nick’s Gaming View, Halo 4’s retail package branded with Xbox Live, Microsoft’s SmartGlass feature goes live, and Turn 10 studios initiates hiring phase, THIS IS NICK’S GAMING VIEW!
Hello everyone and welcome to Nick’s Gaming View, you are here with your host, Nick McCandless. 343 Industries’ highly anticipated first-person shooter, Halo 4, has already crossed the one million sales mark and with the release just around the corner, anticipation for Master Chief’s latest adventure has never been greater. Guaranteed to be one of the top selling titles of 2012, Microsoft has unveiled that retail copies of the massively popular shooter will include one month of Xbox Live along with an exclusive emblem. While it’s nice to see Microsoft throw a month of their online service in, let’s be honest here, who purchasing Halo 4 is not already subscribed to the service required to access online multiplayer?
In preparation for the holiday season and launch of Microsoft’s Surface tablet, the highly marketed E3 2012 feature, SmartGlass, has officially gone live allowing for gamer’s smart devices such as mobile phones and tablets to interact with in-game features taking place on their Xbox 360. For those curious to how this feature will work, imagine being able to access your Call of Duty statistics off of your Xbox 360 while you are using the console to stream Netflix. This is just a taste of what SmartGlass has to offer, but expect to see new implementations as time progresses.
Wrapping up today’s episode of Nick’s Gaming View, Turn 10 Studios, the same team behind the Forza Motorsport franchise, has officially begun their hiring process for the next Forza with positions including: Software Development, Engineer Lead, Vehicle Artist, and Software Development Engineer. No details were given as to whether or not the Forza being worked on is for the next generation Xbox, but with development taking place this late in the console’s life cycle, don’t be surprised to see a new Forza coincide with the launch of the next Xbox.
