A new massage parlor is slated to open in San Francisco, where the specialty is Thai face slapping.

There are plenty of alternative therapies out there, but some are a little more bizarre than others.

Take a new massage parlor in San Francisco that specializes in the art of ancient Thai face slapping.

The business is slated to open by the end of October and it will feature a head masseuse named Tata. She and her husband are gearing up to reportedly own the first face slapping beauty enterprise in the US.

Described as an alternative to Botox injections or costly plastic surgery, the slapping sessions reportedly help the facial skin restore elasticity, helping to diminish the appearance of wrinkles and firm the skin.

Tata recently demonstrated her procedure for a San Francisco Chronicle reporter.

She started moving to the rhythm of the Thai music in the background, and raised her hand. According to her, “Face slapping is not hitting. If you want someone to hit you, go on Craigslist”.

One session costs $350, while four appointments in one month run $1,000.
