U.S President Barack Obama criticized Republican candidate Mitt Romney on Wednesday saying his inconsistency on campaign topics are reflective of an issue of trust in the campaign.
"And then Governor Romney wants to spend five trillion dollars on tax cuts that favor the wealthy, two trillion dollars on defense spending that our military isn't asking for, and he wants you to believe that he can do that without adding to the deficit or raising middle-class taxes. The problem is, you would need to invent a new kind of math to actually make this true. The arithmetic does not work. So we know Governor Romney's jobs plan does not create jobs. His deficit plan does not reduce the deficit. And we joke about Romnesia but, all of this speaks to something really important and that is the issue of trust. There is no more serious issue on a presidential campaign than trust. Trust matters. And here's the thing, Iowa, you know me. You know that I say what I mean and I mean what I say."
President Barack Obama maintains a larger advantage in the state by state battle that will determine the outcome of the election. Polls are reflecting a tight race since the two candidates met for their first debate on October 3rd. But a substantial portion of voters remain up for grabs.
