Wall Street fell on Friday after disappointing earnings from General Electric Co. and McDonald’s Corp.
GE fell 3.4 percent to $22.03 and McDonald's slid 4.4 percent to $88.85.
U.S. stocks suffered their worst loss since late June on what was the 25th anniversary of the Black Monday crash of 1987, when the Dow plummeted 22.6 percent - its worst single-day percentage loss ever.
World stocks were down on U.S. corporate earnings and while concerns about global growth also weighed on investor sentiment.
