A 21-year-old man in custody - charged with attempting to blow up the New York Federal Reserve Bank with a 1,000 pound bomb.
U.S. officials said the FBI arrested Quazi Mohammed Rezwanul Ahsan Nafis after thwarting the plot - in an undercover sting operation.
On Wednesday, police cars were stationed outside a home in Queens, New York, believed to be where Nafis was living.
The U.S. Department of Justice said the suspect - who is from Bangladesh - faces charges of attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction and attempting to provide material support to al-Qaeda.
The explosives provided by undercover agents did not work - meaning the public was never in danger.
