An eclectic list of some of the most powerful and successful women in Hollywood gathered in Beverly Hills Monday night (October 15) for "The 19th Annual ELLE Women in Hollywood" celebration.

The elegant event took place at the Four Seasons Hotel, where the diverse group of women were honored for there profound impact and achievements in the film industry.

Among those being honored at the dinner included "Sex in the City" star Sarah Jessica Parker.

"It is nice to be reminded of that, of women's role in film and in Hollywood, how important women's stories are. Sure, if we annually or once a year to say that loudly, I think that is just grand."

Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer, Cate Blanchett, Uma Thurman and Shirley MacLaine, were among the list of those being honored on the night.

"There is Shirley MacLaine in the room and when you think about Elle Fanning and Shirley MacLaine in the same room. This is a really healthy industry in so many respects. There is so many careers being nurtured here and flourishing, as well as people who are into their middle and late careers, who are still working and pushing the boundaries."

ELLE has honored women in Hollywood for the past 19 years.

Past honorees of the event which champions the cause of women getting better roles on-screen have included Jennifer Aniston, Viola Davis and Michelle Pfeiffer and Julie Andrews.
