U.S. stocks opened higher on Monday on Citigroup Earnings and strong retail sales data.

Citigroup Inc (C.N) rose 2.4 percent to $35.59 in premarket trading after posting adjusted earnings that surged from the prior year and beat expectations.

Retail sales rose in September, pointing to stronger-than-expected economic growth in the third quarter.
