Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has sworn in a new vice president and six other cabinet ministers after his re-election last week.

The reshuffle sees former Foreign Minister Nicolas Maduro step up to be Chavez's deputy.

Speculation is rife that Maduro is being groomed to be the president's eventual successor.
