Moscow's Red Square has been overrun by motorbikes, as part of a freestyle Red Bull X-Fighters motocross competition taking place right next to the walls of the Kremlin.

This was the first time an international event of this sort happened in Russia -- no wonder the spectacular event left onlookers open-mouthed: audacious riders threw somersaults as high as 10 meters up in the air, and somehow managed to stay on.

Under the simple rules, each player gets just 90 seconds, after which he is given a certain number of points: the harder the trick, the better the result.

18-year-old New Zealander Levi Sherwood won the race. Veteran and 2009 X-Fighters title holder Nate Adams finished second, while round one winner Andre Villa rounded out the top three.
