The annual Oktoberfest came to a close for the 179th time with the traditional gun salute after more than six million people drank over 6 million liters of beer and ate 116 oxen at the world's largest beer festival in the Bavarian capital Munich.
With many visitors intoxicated before noon, the large alcohol consumption can sometimes mean trouble.
The official "Oktoberfest Mass glass mug" weighs 1.35 kilograms, according to the souvenir shop selling them at 8.5 euros.
This year's beer party drew half a million fewer visitors than the previous year, but the 6.4 million visitors this year ate only two oxen less than the 6.9 million in 2011.
Last year's statistics also reveal that 520 wallets, 390 mobile phones and 80 pieces of jewelry and watches were found, among many other lost items.
For those who missed this year's party, the 180th Oktoberfest will open on September 21 and last until October 6, 2013.
