Republican Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney delivers a foreign policy address Monday where he vowed to "recommit" America to the goal of an independent Palestinian state living in peace alongside Israel.

Hanan Ashrawi, a member of the PLO, told Reuters TV Romney's plan will go nowhere.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) HANAN ASHRAWI, A MEMBER OF THE PALESTINE LIBERATION ORGANIZATION'S EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE, SAYING:

"He (Romney) is going about it the wrong way when he talks about improving even relations with Israel, being more biased towards Israel, paying more money to Israel, giving it more in terms of weapons and so on and security cooperation without realizing that it is precisely this bias that has undermined American standing and interest and that has destroyed the chances of peace in the region."

In Jerusalem a more welcome response.

"Romney is going to be better because he is not so, I think he is much more clear about this issue (Iranian nuclear program). He is like black and white, it's not too much grey area as Obama"

After his visit to Jerusalem in July, Palestinians accused Romney of racism when he suggested disparities between the Israeli and Palestinian economies had cultural roots.
