ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)
STORY: Balmain's spring/summer 2013 collection, presented in a sumptuous gilded room inside the Intercontinental Hotel in Paris on Thursday (September 27), was a definitive ode to the Eighties. The accompanying soundtrack to the show featured none other than the Manchester rock band "The Smiths" hailing from the same decade. Balmain Creative Director Olivier Rousteing, who took over the helm at the storied French couture label in 2011, unveiled the same wide-shouldered, crystal-embellished biker leather jackets that was first introduced by his predecessor Christophe Decarnin, alongside extremely ornate and bedazzled dresses.
