The start of a trial involving a British woman accused of drug trafficking in Indonesia has been delayed.

Lindsey Sandiford, a 55 year old British national, has been in a Balinese jail since May.

Her trial was set to start Thursday, but was delayed until next week after her lawyer failed to attend.

Sandiford was arrested after authorities found nearly 5 kilograms of cocaine inside the lining of her suitcase.

Sandiford has maintained her innocence throughout the ordeal.
