The Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or FARC, says it is open to a ceasefire with the government, as long as both sides lay down their weapons. But Colombia's president has already rejected a ceasefire proposal from the rebel movement even though the government and FARC begin direct negotiations next month aimed at ending their decades long conflict.
