U.S. Stocks Edge Up After Two Days of Losses

Wall Street closed moderately higher as investors dipped back into the market following a recent pullback in stocks.


Home resales rose in August to their highest rate in more than two years and groundbreaking on new homes also climbed.


European shares rose modestly after two days of declines, while the yen recovered from a brief decline on the Bank of Japan's decision to ease monetary policy further.
