'Mexican TV crew' allegedly smuggles cash into Nicaragua

Eighteen Mexican nationals are due to stand trial in Nicaragua after an alleged attempt to smuggle 9.2 million US dollars in cash through the country, while posing as members of TV news crew.

The defendants entered the country in six vans painted with the logo of Mexico's Televisa network.

The TV station says it has no knowledge of those arrested.
