At least eight Turkish police officers were killed when their bus was blown up by a roadside bomb.

Nine of their colleagues were wounded in the blast, which Turkish authorities suspect could be the work of separatist fighters from the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).

It happened in the Karliova district in the east of the country.
