Security tightened along Syria-Turkey border

The Syrian army is tightening control along its border with Turkey to cut the supply routes for Syrian opposition fighters.

To thwart the cross-border traffic, the army has employed land mines and snipers to shut down what Damascus says are smuggling routes.

But activists say the enhanced enforcement will negatively impact thousands of refugees who want to flee the violence by crossing into Turkey.
